Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack has allayed fears that he picked up a serious ankle injury during Germany's World Cup qualifying victory over Russia on Saturday. Ballack struggled through the full 90 minutes of the 1-0 win in Moscow which booked Germany's place in next summer's finals despite taking a heavy blow to his ankle following a first-half collision with Chelsea team-mate Yuri Zhirkov. But despite initial fears that the experienced midfielder could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Ballack now believes he could be fit enough to take part in Wednesday's game against Finland. "It is not that serious as we had thought," he revealed. "During the match it was pretty much aching, but afterwards it was not. It is pretty fine now though. "I believe I could be ready for the match on Wednesday as thankfully it was not a big thing."
