Michael Ballack has revealed he has agreed a new deal to stay at Chelsea. The German midfielder, who started Saturday's FA Cup final on the bench, has agreed a 12-month extension to his contract, but is yet to ink the contract. Ballack's existing deal was due to expire in the summer, but Chelsea have moved to tie down the former Bayern Munich man for a further year. "I haven't signed yet but I have agreed for another year," said Ballack. Ballack will play under a new manager next season with AC Milan Carlo Ancelotti widely expected to take over from Guus Hiddink. The 32-year-old is a big admirer of Ancelotti and feels the Italian would be an ideal replacement for Hiddink. "It is not done but it looks like he (Ancelotti) will be the coach next year," said Ballack. "I don't know him very well. But he has had great success with AC Milan. "I think that's what we need at Chelsea, we need consistency. You always need time to adapt to a new manager. "He (Ancelotti) has great experience and I think he can deal with the situation." Ballack has also called on Chelsea to be more consistent next season if they want to challenge for the Premier League title. Chelsea finished third this season and Ballack believes major changes are not needed to get the Blues back at the top of the Premier League. "What we need at Chelsea is consistency," added Ballack. "There is not much that we need to change to win the Premier League next season. We have a great team but we have to change the manager again and we will need a bit of time to adapt. "I don't think we need to buy anybody because we already have a lot of good players on the bench. "If you look at the performances over the last couple of years in reaching finals we have a really good squad and are heading in the right direction."
