Carlo Ancelotti has delivered a boost to England manager Fabio Capello by declaring Ashley Cole will be ready for the World Cup.
Chelsea boss Ancelotti has pencilled Cole in for a return against Stoke in a fortnight, leaving him two further League games against Liverpool and Wigan plus the FA Cup final, if Chelsea beat Aston Villa tomorrow, to get fit.
Left back Cole has not played since February after breaking his ankle at Everton, but he is expected to return to full training next week. Ancelotti said: 'Ashley needs some days to train and will be ready, we hope, for the game against Stoke. He's doing very well.'
Asked whether Cole could then prove his fitness to Capello, Ancelotti added: 'I think so. Ashley Cole is a very important player for England. They have another month and he will be 100 per cent ready for the World Cup, for sure.'
