Chelsea will assess Ashley Cole on Thursday after the full-back limped out of Wednesday's defeat at Everton with an ankle problem.
The England left-back was replaced by Michael Ballack in the 57th minute of the 2-1 defeat at Goodison Park.
He picked up the injury during a challenge with the Toffees' USA international forward Landon Donovan.
"He has taken quite a nasty knock," explained assistant manager Ray Wilkins.
"It wasn't a foul but it was a very strong challenge and he was slightly off balance.
"He has got a slight problem with his ankle but we will get back to Cobham and assess the situation."
Should the injury prove to be serious then Cole could miss England's international friendly with Egypt at Wembley on March 3.
