Anton Ferdinand chanters should go to prison, says Neil Warnock

Neil Warnock has called on Chelsea supporters guilty of taunting Anton Ferdinand on Tuesday night to be jailed.[LNB]QPR defender Ferdinand is embroiled in a controversial row with John Terry over claims the Chelsea star racially abused him - an accusation the England captain refutes.[LNB]Groups of Chelsea supporters poured fuel on the fire during their midweek Champions League 1-1 draw in Genk by chanting: 'Anton Ferdinand, you know what you are' - referring to Terry's alleged taunt during Rangers' 1-0 triumph over Chelsea at LoftusRoad on October 23.[LNB] In the spotlight: John Terry trains with his team-mates on Friday[LNB] The Stamford Bridge club have vowed to come down hard on supporters identified for partaking in the chants. But Ferdinand's manager has insisted fans involved should face a much harsher punishment.[LNB]'I think they should be put in prisonfor about two years each, but that's just me flying a kite, isn't it?' said QPR boss Warnock. 'I'm afraid in today's society nothing surprises me. You see what happens when Liverpool play United, the abuse that managers get, and stewards look away - some of them even smile at the abuse you get,' he continued.[LNB]'It's all right saying we're going tolook into it, but you can't look into that. When you see the hatred in some of these guys' faces, it's frightening.  'You're probably talking about guys who wear suits to work all week. I don't accept that it's just racial issues, I think it's how people come to the game.[LNB]'Some people come to the game just toabuse a manager, a player or whatever. I don't think it's racial, I just think it's the nature of society today.' Meanwhile, QPR  co-owner Tony Fernandes insists Terry should be selected for England's friendliesagainst Spain and Sweden.[LNB]Terry is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police and the FA over the allegations of racial abuse, butFernandes said: 'I think innocent until proven guilty.[LNB] Flashpoint: Anton Ferdinand and John Terry clash at Loftus Road recently[LNB]'There's been no hard evidence eitherway of John's alleged statements. If he's the right man for the job, then he should be selected as captain.' Despite the furore, the Malaysian millionaire says Terry is not a racist.[LNB]'Lots of things can be in the spur of the moment which don't make you really believe what you've said.
