Anelka 'not happy' with form
icolas Anelka insists he is yet to find top gear this season, despite finding the net at regular intervals.[LNB] The Frenchman continues to lead the Premier League goalscoring charts, with 14, while he bagged a hat-trick on Saturday to help Chelsea squeeze past Watford 3-1 in the FA Cup fifth round.[LNB]The treble at Vicarage Road took his tally for the season to 20, but Anelka feels there is still more to come from him this term.[LNB]"Despite the goals I'm not happy with my performance," he told L'Equipe.[LNB]"I'm not happy with myself.[LNB]"What's important for me is to play well. And I haven't felt I've played well, even when I've scored."[LNB]FreedomAnelka was, however, happy to be paired alongside Didier Drogba against the Hornets and believes the pair can form a formidable partnership.[LNB]"I would like to participate more in the game," he continued. [LNB]"When you're all alone up front it's sometimes difficult.[LNB]"Didier and I showed that we can play together and score.[LNB]"The fact that I had Didier by my side changed the match. I had more freedom."[LNB]Anelka is also hoping that the confidence which can be taken from the cup success can help the Blues to put their recent distractions behind them.[LNB]CharacterChelsea have struggled to generate positive results in the Premier League of late and replaced outgoing boss Luiz Felipe Scolari with experienced Dutchman Guus Hiddink last week.[LNB]"We have had a difficult period but we showed a lot of character," said Anelka. [LNB]"The most important thing now is to win games.[LNB]"It is always difficult when you change the manager. We had a strange period when we had a lot of chances but could not score.[LNB]"But I hope we have reversed everything and now we will win a lot of games in the league.[LNB]"In the last one or two months we have had a lot of chances but the ball didn't want to go in. We had a lot chances against Watford but when you stay focused and you have a lot of big players in the team, you know you can score.[LNB]"We have a big team, big players, and even when we were losing 1-0 we knew we had the capability to win the game."[LNB]
