Chelsea head coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that the Blues have agreed a deal to sign Inter Zapresic goalkeeper Matej Delac.
The highly-rated 17-year-old will stay with his Croatian club until 2011, although his wages from now until then will be paid by Chelsea, who have agreed a five-year contract with Delac.
Ancelotti told reporters: "He is a young goalkeeper getting very good experience in his country and we think that he can be very good in the future.
"He will stay in Croatia to play next season and then come to play with us."
The deal appears to have been okayed by FIFA, with the Blues currently under a transfer embargo for the next two transfer windows.
"I think FIFA are happy," Ancelotti added. "He is a very young goalkeeper and this is a solution for our future, not for the present.
"We put a lot of attention on the young players in every part of the world and if it is possible to take them, we want to do this."
