Ancelotti: United not the same
05 Apr 2010 - 14:17:04
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti claims Manchester United are 'not the same team' without injured striker Wayne Rooney.
The Blues landed a potentially decisive blow in the Premier League title race after overcoming the champions 2-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Rooney missed the game with the ankle ligament damage picked up against Bayern Munich last week and Ancelotti believes the Old Trafford club are simply not as dangerous without him in their side.
Chelsea are now two points clear of United top of the table with five games remaining in the season.
"They're not the same team without him," declared Ancelotti.
"Rooney is a fantastic player who is difficult to replace with another player.
"(Dimitar) Berbatov is good but Rooney is totally different.
"Rooney can sometimes come back to receive the ball and use it for all the team and then he can attack in any direction.
"He is an unbelievable player."
