Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti believes the best is yet to come from Ashley Cole following confirmation that the full-back has signed a new contract with the club.
Cole, 28, has pledged his future to the Stamford Bridge outfit for the next four seasons after following captain John Terry in signing a new deal with the Blues.
The England defender has been at Chelsea for three years in which he has made 88 Premier League appearances.
But after being impressed with Cole since arriving as the club's new manager earlier in the summer, Ancelotti fully expects the former Arsenal defender to further flourish.
"I am very happy that Ashley has committed himself to Chelsea," the Italian coach to the club's official website.
"He is one of the best left-backs in the world but I believe his best is yet to come.
"I am very pleased that will happen in a Chelsea shirt."
