Ancelotti: Blues must improve

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti has admitted there is plenty of room for improvement after seeing his Chelsea side start their Premier League season with a win.

Didier Drogba's stoppage-time winner in Saturday's 2-1 victory over Hull City ensured the Italian started his reign in positive fashion.

But after struggling to break down the hard-working Tigers for long periods of the game, Ancelotti has admitted there is plenty of hard work still to be done on the training pitch with his new charges.

"For sure we have to improve because we didn't always play well in this match," acknowledged the Italian.

"We made some mistakes. But this is normal after one month.

"We have to improve our play and continuity in matches. This game was very difficult because we went behind.

"But we didn't lose the idea to play and at the end we deserved to win.

"It is good for the team to believe all the time that they could score.

"This is football, a nice part of football. It is important for us to believe."
