Ancelotti stays focused

Carlo Ancelotti insists he will let his Chelsea players do the talking on the pitch rather than getting pulled into psychological mind-games with other top bosses. The Premier League has a history of psychological battles between managers, with last season no exception as Rafa Benitez and Sir Alex Ferguson squared up as Liverpool and Manchester United fought for the title. Former AC Milan boss Ancelotti was himself forced to play mental games last term as Jose Mourinho and Inter Milan carried off the Serie A title. But the new Chelsea manager insists he will not succumb to such antics during his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge. He said: "I have respect for all of the Premier League managers, but I don't care about these mind games. "It happens all over the world, exactly the same thing. "Little things worry little minds. What I worry about is getting the team ready, preparing the team to beat my opponents, to win against Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal." Ancelotti is aiming to bring the Premier League and UEFA Champions League double to Stamford Bridge next season. "(We want to win) the Premier League or the Champions League, or maybe even both," he added. "It won't be easy but we will try to do it." But he acknowledges Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wants the Blues to win in a certain style. Ancelotti, who worked under another demanding owner Silvio Berlusconi at AC Milan, said: "Roman is looking for a much clearer personality for the club, something he can point to and say, 'this is our identity'. "This is what I was told should be my goal, to find a clear identity for the team. "My impression of Roman is that he loves football, he loves his club, he loves his players. "He wants to know everything that is going on in the club. He is always asking for information about the club. "He is very passionate and is often at the training ground to support my decisions and my work. "I don't think there's a big difference between him and Berlusconi. Berlusconi also loves his club and loves his players and wants to know all sorts of things, including the condition of the team. "I'm not surprised Chelsea are still looking for a clear identity after spending so much on players. "Buying a certain player for a lot of money is not so important. What is important is to get a player who wants to play the right way. "It's a young club with young people, but they have fantastic enthusiasm. Although I call Chelsea a young club, I know all about the history of the club. "When I say a young club, I am talking about the new Chelsea under Abramovich."
