// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti believes he can see potential for long-term success after winning the Community Shield on penalties to collect his first trophy in England.[LNB] The ex-AC Milan boss arrived at Stamford Bridge this summer and he made an immediate impact in his first competitive game as Manchester United were defeated at Wembley on Sunday.[LNB]Chelsea looked set to win in normal time after Ricardo Carvalho and Frank Lampard overturned Nani's opener, but Wayne Rooney took the season curtain-raiser to a shoot-out with an injury-time equaliser.[LNB]Ancelotti's side held their nerve in penalties and the Italian was pleased with the result, and with what he has seen from his players since they began pre-season training in early July.[LNB]"I am happy, not only for this trophy. I am happy for this month. We have done a lot of work," he told Sky Sports.[LNB]"We have to continue because the season is very long. But we have the possibility to do very well.[LNB]HappyHe added: "We are happy because we won a very difficult game.[LNB]"Manchester played well in the first half and went one goal in front and for us it was very difficult.[LNB]"In the second half, Chelsea were better because we put in more strength and quality."[LNB]Lampard's goal was surrounded by controversy as Chelsea failed to put the ball out of play, and referee Chris Foy opted not to stop the action, after Michael Ballack appeared to illegally ground Patrice Evra in the build-up.[LNB]Ancelotti, though, does not believe his side intentionally took advantage of a cloudy issue in the rulebook to gain an advantage. [LNB]"Usually the Chelsea players are loyal (honest). If they don't put out the ball, they haven't seen a player on the ground. Maybe, also, the referee has to stop the action," he said.[LNB]ImpactThe diamond formation in midfield favoured by Ancelotti has earned criticism from some quarters, with the strategy believed to be hampering the talents of Lampard and Michael Essien.[LNB]Ghana star Essien was muted in a right-midfield role at Wembley, while a more-advanced Lampard struggled to impact upon United in the opening 45 minutes.[LNB]But while Ancelotti confesses there is room for improvement, he is adamant his squad have faith in the system.[LNB]"We used the diamond in this game and I think we have to continue to use this system," he said.[LNB]"For sure, in this game we had some problems, but Manchester's midfield is very hard. Now we have to improve. I think it is good for us to play with the system.[LNB]"It is the first month that we work on the system. They have to improve. They are happy to play in this system and we have to continue to work."[LNB]
