Ancelotti sees Blues improve
// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti believes he is already seeing rapid improvements from his side after watching them outclass Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.[LNB] The Blues were forced to rely on a late and fortunate Didier Drogba winner against Hull City on Saturday but were firing on all cylinders against the Black Cats as they cruised to a 3-1 success in the North East.[LNB]Despite going behind to Darren Bent's first-half opener against the run of play, the visitors did not panic and forged ahead after the interval.[LNB]Michael Ballack levelled in the 52nd minute, Frank Lampard drilled home from the penalty spot after Drogba had been felled before Deco applied the final flourish with a sublime strike 20 minutes from time.[LNB]New Chelsea boss Ancelotti paid tribute to the way his players responded to going a goal down and was delighted with their display.[LNB]The Italian told Sky Sports: "I am satisfied because we played very well from the first minute to the last minute. [LNB]"It was not easy in the first half because Sunderland scored, but we maintained control of the game and had a good mental attitude. We won and it was a fantastic match for us.[LNB]"We are happy because I am seeing the team improve very quickly."[LNB]Good atmosphereAncelotti made four changes to his starting XI from Saturday, with Deco, Branislav Ivanovic, Salomon Kalou and Ballack all coming in.[LNB]Portugal international Deco, who faded badly after a bright start last term and was tipped to leave this summer, earned special praise from his manager after a display packed with creativity.[LNB]Ancelotti admitted he is likely to rotate his side throughout the season given the busy schedule the Blues will face and the number of gifted players at his disposal.[LNB]He said: "We changed it because we have a lot of games and it is important to use all the players because we have a very good squad with fantastic players.[LNB]"I want to use them to maintain a good atmosphere in the squad. Now we can change it for our next game.[LNB]"I am very happy for Deco because of his problems last season. Now he is in good condition and has a lot of quality on the field. [LNB]"He takes up good positions on the field and if the team play well for you, you play well for the team."[LNB]
