Ancelotti: Pen woe won't trouble Terry

Carlo Ancelotti says John Terry will be unaffected by memories of his last visit to the Luzhniki Stadium when Chelsea face Spartak Moscow.[LNB] Captain Terry slipped as he took a crucial shoot-out penalty against Manchester United in the Champions League final in 2008. Had he scored, Chelsea would have won the trophy they crave, but following his miss the Blues went on to lose.[LNB]However Chelsea boss Ancelotti does not believe the former England skipper will be affected by his return to the stadium tomorrow.[LNB]"John has great experience so I think what happened two years ago has no effect on him, he has experience," said Ancelotti.[LNB]"Everyone knows in football you can sometimes lose games. I lost a final in 2005 but you have to look forward. If you look forward with enthusiasm and character you can have revenge.[LNB]"Chelsea lost the final in 2008 but I don't think they will have a psychological problem with that tomorrow, it is a different story now."[LNB]An artificial pitch has replaced the grass on which Terry's error led to Manchester United's third triumph in Europe's most prestigious club competition, but Ancelotti is unconcerned by the surface.[LNB]However, the Italian refused to name his team until the players had trained on it.[LNB]"I can say nothing about this because we haven't tried this kind of pitch," he added.[LNB]"We want to try it this evening in the training session and after that we can have an opinion about this.[LNB]"We don't have a problem to play here, I hope, but it is different, it is one of the best artificial pitches. We don't complain about this."[LNB]Defender Alex, striker Didier Drogba, right-back Jose Bosingwa and England midfielder Frank Lampard have all been left behind at the club's Cobham training headquarters.[LNB]"I can't give the line-up because we want to try the pitch before," Ancelotti said.[LNB]"If the players are comfortable to play there I will take the decision after the training session.[LNB]"We don't have important players, but we are able to play a good, physical match and I don't think we have a problem with a reaction from the game against Aston Villa. We'll put out a very good line-up tomorrow."[LNB]Spartak, like Chelsea, are unbeaten in their opening two Champions League games, and Ancelotti has plenty of respect for coach Valery Karpin and his side.[LNB]Ancelotti said: "I know Valery Karpin because he was a fantastic player and played a lot of games. When I was coach of Juventus we played against Celta Vigo, he played there and he played very well.[LNB]"He is doing a very good job here with Spartak Moscow - they are a good team.[LNB]"They have a good mix of Brazilian players and Russian players. Brazilians have technical ability and Russians have more physical skills, it is a good combination."[LNB]Meanwhile, Ancelotti refused to be drawn into the debate over the future of Manchester United's Wayne Rooney.[LNB]The Italian coach distanced himself, as far as he could, from questions over whether Chelsea would show an interest in the United and England striker given his current problems at Old Trafford.[LNB]Ancelotti said: "I cannot really give an answer about this.[LNB]"Rooney is a Manchester United player and he has some problem at this moment but the club has experience and when a big team has top players like Rooney, they want to keep him in the squad."
