Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is optimistic Michael Essien will be fit for the Blues' derby clash against Fulham on Wednesday.[LNB] Essien has missed the Blues' last two matches after picking up a toe injury during the 2-1 victory at Blackburn late last month.[LNB]The midfield powerhouse's presence was particularly missed in Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Liverpool, but he could return for Fulham's short trip to Stamford Bridge.[LNB]"He had a problem in the last game in the Premier League on his toe and was not able [to play]," said Ancelotti. [LNB]"I hope Wednesday he will be able to play."[LNB]Ancelotti also confirmed that Didier Drogba started on the bench at Liverpool after falling ill overnight.[LNB]He added: "Drogba had a fever last night and so was not fit 100 per cent, so I decided to put him [on] just for one part of the game."
