Ancelotti eyes more signings

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has hinted that he may make some moves in the transfer market before the end of August. The Blues have not splashed the cash this summer as much as in recent seasons, with left-sided Russian Yuri Zhirkov their highest profile signing. New manager Ancelotti did allegedly attempt to bring Kaka and Andrea Pirlo, who both played under him at AC Milan, to Stamford Bridge. But neither of those deals materialised and so far only Daniel Sturridge and Ross Turnbull have joined Zhirkov as new recruits at Chelsea. However, the Italian manager has still not written off a big-money transfer, with a huge offer for 21-year-old Argentine striker Sergio Aguero rumoured to be in the pipeline. "The market finishes on 31st August and if there is some possibility to improve the squad we can do it," Ancelotti told The Sun.
