Alves open to offers

Porto defender Bruno Alves has admitted that he could be set for a summer move away from Estadio do Dragao. The Portugal international has spent the last 10 years on the books of the Dragons and, after a number of loan stints during his early days, has become a firm fixture in the heart of the club's back four. His commanding presence has now caught the eye of some of Europe's top clubs, with interest expected to increase once the transfer window re-opens across the continent in the coming weeks. Serie A giants Inter Milan, where Alves' former boss Jose Mourinho is now in charge, are believed to have already expressed an interest, while Premier League outfit Chelsea are also reported to be keen. No formal approach is yet to be made by either side but Porto are bracing themselves for such a move. Alves admits he would welcome the opportunity to take on a new challenge abroad and his desire to secure a move is likely to hasten his departure. "Leaving Porto is an option to me, but a deal is yet to be done," Alves told SIC during the Portuguese league awards.
