Allofs keen to land targets

Werder Bremen general manager Klaus Allofs is looking to push through deals for Bayern Munich midfielder Tim Borowski and Chelsea striker Claudio Pizarro. Coach Thomas Schaaf has identified the pair as his top targets this summer and is keen to have the duo on board as soon as possible. Allofs admits he is doing all he can to ensure the duo, who have both previously enjoyed productive spells at Bremen, will be back at the club in the not too distant future. "I am looking to speed up these affairs," he told BILD. "In the case of Tim, I have spoken to Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (Bayern chief executive) and we have exchanged viewpoints regarding valuations and terms. "Tim wants to rejoin us and we want him back. But the package has to be right for all parties and Tim will need to accept a wage cut." On Pizarro, Allofs added: "It is the same with Claudio. He will also have to accept lower wages if he wants to come back, be that on a loan deal or a permanent transfer."
