Alexandre Pato's agent admits he is excited by Chelsea's attempts to sign the 19-year-old AC Milan striker. Sportsmail understands that Carlo Ancelotti has urged the Blues to raid his old club for the £45million-rated Brazil international. And after initially committing himself to staying at the San Siro, Pato has since softened his position to say only that his representatives were dealing with enquiries. His agent Gilmar Veloz told Italian broadcaster: 'Milan have to decide Pato's situation. We are enthusiastic about Chelsea's interest in the player, but the final decision is entirely down to Milan. 'Pato has a contract with Milan, but if the club reached an agreement with Chelsea, then we would be willing to negotiate. 'At the moment, I cannot give any guarantees to the fans that Pato will remain at Milan. I do not own the club and so only a spokesman for Milan can answer that question.' For their part, Milan insist Pato is not for sale. They will pay off debt with the £56m they receive from Real Madrid for Kaka, but that may still not be enough to keep others at the San Siro following the admission that the club could not compete with Spanish and English rivals in terms of revenues. Nonetheless, Milan general manager Adriano Galliani said: 'There is a negotiation for Kaka, but none of our other key men is for sale. That includes Pato, (Andrea) Pirlo and (Clarence) Seedorf.'
