Alex reveals Blues intention

Chelsea defender Alex has confirmed his intention to leave Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old Brazilian has profited from an injury to regular central defender Ricardo Carvalho with a run in the starting line-up this season.

But despite making 12 appearances during the current campaign, the former Santos and PSV Eindhoven defender is keen to move on in search of greater first-team opportunities.

"I told Chelsea a few days ago that I wanted to leave," he told The Sun.

"There are many options. But I have to think them through and see if Chelsea will let me leave in January."

Alex made 39 appearances in all competitions for the Blues in his first season at Stamford Bridge last year.
