Crewe Alexandra chief Dario Gradi is hopeful of signing Chelsea's highly-rated young goalkeeper Rhys Taylor on loan this week.[LNB] With soon-to-sign Steve Phillips likely to be ruled out of the first month of the new campaign following shoulder surgery, former Alex coach Steve Holland, now in charge of the reserve set-up at the Premier League champions, has recommended 20-year-old Taylor to Gradi.[LNB]"I think he's just signed a new contract at Chelsea where they have high hopes for him," said Gradi.[LNB]"I expect Phillips to sign for us but I don't expect him to be fit to start the season, so he (Taylor) could start the season in goal."
