Atletico Madrid have vowed to resist Chelsea's advances for Sergio Aguero after turning down another huge offer for the Argentina striker. [LNB]But the Spanish club's majority shareholder Miguel Angel Gil Marin admits the long-term battle to hold on to their star player is out of their hands - likening the situation to when Fernando Torres packed his bags for Liverpool. [LNB]Chelsea have been making a concerted bid to sign the 21-year-old - reportedly bidding well in excess of £40million plus add-ons - but neither the player nor his employers are keen to do a deal in the winter transfer window.[LNB] Sitting tight: Atletico are determined to keep hold of Aguero [LNB]'We have had another opportunity (to sell him) and again we have said no,' said Gil Marin. 'We will persevere and be stubborn because we want to keep players who can contribute. [LNB]'The position of the player is the club are the same. Aguero is someone who is growing with the club as we are with him. While there is a relationship of trust, we shouldn't break this.'[LNB] Aguero has suggested this season could be his last in Spain if Atleti accept a bid to help ease their multi-million pound debts. [LNB]  But Gil Marin says it is the player rather than the club who will determine the date of departure. [LNB]'Aguero will leave Atletico when he wants to go, as happened with Fernando Torres,' he said, referring to Torres's move to Anfield in July 2007. [LNB]Atleti's financial situation clouds the desire to hold on to Aguero, but Gil Marin denies claims that debts stand at more than £400m. [LNB]The chief executive insists the club's net debt is about £180m - a level that president Enrique Cerezo insists is 'not a concern'.  [LNB] Chelsea fail in £53m Aguero bid as Man City enter race for Argentina starMeet Chelsea target Sergio Aguero - the next, next Maradona who is ready to leave Atletico MadridChelsea's £40m target Aguero admits he'll leave Atletico if the price is right Real superstar Kaka reveals he turned down the chance to join ChelseaChelsea must learn to beat to the spot-kick Blues, warns frustrated HilarioCarlo's Chelsea are better than Jose's, claims Blues defender CarvalhoCHELSEA FC
