Adriano Mutu proposes payments to charity instead of Chelsea

Mutu sent a letter on Tuesday containing his proposal to Chelsea, Fifa's disciplinary committee and Fifa president Sepp Blatter.[LNB]"I can't pay such a sum. The fine would bankrupt Mutu, and he could be suspended if he doesn't pay.[LNB]Mutu was fired by Chelsea in October 2004 after testing positive for the drug and was banned from football for seven months.[LNB]Chelsea had paid £15 million to sign Mutu from Parma in 2003. But it got nothing when Mutu joined Juventus as a free agent after serving his ban.[LNB]Mutu has one more week to appeal the CAS ruling to the Swiss Federal Court, which has sent back one CAS ruling for retrial in 25 years. It can examine whether he was denied fair legal process, but not the details of the verdict. [LNB]
