Adidas F50 is top-scoring boot in Premier League

The adidas F50 boot has topped the scoring charts for the Premier League 2010/11 season. Figures from SoccerBible.com’s Boot League shows that the lightweight F50 hit the back of the net 202 times.

The leading F50s hitmen [with 10 goals each] were Sunderland’s Asamoah Gyan, Saloman Kalou, Samir Nasri and Roman Pavlyuchenko. adidas Predators finished second in the Boot League with 167 goals.

Premier League joint-top scorer Dimitar Berbatov contributed with 20 strikes this term and Arsenal hotshot Robin Van Persie bagged 18. Nike CTR 360 – worn by players including Carlos Tevez (20 goals), DJ Campbell, Florent Malouda and Rafael van der Vaart (13 goals each) – took third place with 164 goals.

The Premier League’s top scoring brand overall was Nike (441 goals), followed by adidas (433 goals), Puma (81 goals) and Umbro (80 goals).

A record 1,063 goals were scored in the top flight this year [for a season involving 20 clubs], beating the previous highest total of 1,060 in the 1999/2000 season.
