AC Milan hint that Carlo Ancelotti could make summer move to Chelsea

Although Guus Hiddink is in talks about taking over at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season, Ancelotti is believed to be owner Roman Abramovich's top target to succeed Luiz Felipe Scolari in the long term.[LNB]Ancelotti, 49, the longest-serving manager in Serie A, turned down a move last season but AC Milan's organising director Umberto Gandini admitted he may now reconsider – but not until the end of the campaign.[LNB]Speaking in Geneva at the European Clubs' Association general assembly, Gandini said: 'I cannot talk on behalf of Carlo but I don't think he would be interested in doing anything now. But if the position will be open in July then I think he might consider it.[LNB]'He did already have a chance to consider it when he was approached last summer.'[LNB]Gandini said there had been no approach to Milan so far by Chelsea but that there was a good relationship between the two clubs.[LNB]He added: 'I'm totally unaware of any approach or any desire by Chelsea and Mr Abramovich. If that is the case I am pretty sure it will be a very straight and open discussion between the two clubs.[LNB]'But it's absolutely impossible that AC Milan would make any adjustment to the squad or technical staff now.'[LNB]Ancelotti is understood to have an agreement with AC Milan whereby he can move on from the club when he wants regardless of his contract.[LNB]Ancelotti has won two Champions League trophies as AC Milan's coach – and won the European Cup twice as a player with the club.[LNB]Meanwhile, Frank Rijkaard's agent insists the Dutchman would 'consider' the Chelsea manager's job and would not be scared off by the ruthless reputation of Abramovich. [LNB]Rijkaard has been out of management since leaving Barcelona last summer. His agent Perry Overeem said: 'Frank is obviously a big fan of the game and a big fan of the Premier League so he can be interested in working in the Premier League. He would consider every serious job offer from one of the major teams in Europe and obviously Chelsea and the Premier League is one of those.' [LNB]Four managers have come and gone since Abramovich bought Chelsea in the summer of 2003, but Overeem insisted that would not put Rijkaard off the challenge at Stamford Bridge. [LNB]'Well of course [the reputation of Chelsea] doesn't make it a lot easier and Frank would take some more time to consider the opportunity, but I don't think Frank will be scared off by those statistics. [LNB]'He will just think of himself as maybe the one candidate who can stay there longer than those earlier coaches.' [LNB]Roberto Di Matteo has rejected speculation linking him with the vacant managerial position at Chelsea and insists he has unfinished business with MK Dons. [LNB]The former Blues midfielder is 'flattered' to be linked with the job by the club's fans but admits there is nothing else in the rumours. [LNB]
