Charlton Athletic manager Alan Pardew picked out Zhi Zheng for special praise as the Addicks returned to form by thrashing Blackpool 4-1 at the weekend.
The China international scored twice against the hapless Seasiders as Pardew's side got their promotion push back on track.
"He had a great game against Blackpool," the former Reading and West Ham United manager told the club's official website.
"It wasn't just about the goals, he covered every blade of grass, and I was very pleased with him.
"He's a very balanced character and a nice guy. We're starting to see a little bit of humour come out of him now he's getting more comfortable with the language, and he's a fine ambassador for Chinese football.
"He has a full-time interpreter, because English is a very difficult language - it's like one of us learning Mandarin. There are lots of different subtleties, but he's doing well and is a popular lad."
