Zheng set for Addicks return

Charlton Athletic boss Alan Pardew is delighted to still have Zheng Zhi among his squad, with the China midfielder having looked set to leave the club last month.

The 28-year-old had seemed set to join West Bromwich Albion, but is set to make his first appearance of the season for the Addicks this weekend.

Pardew told his club's official website: "Zheng's trained this week and looks fine.

"He's had such a long period of football, but he looked fresh this week after a break and it's good to have him back.

"He's ready to produce for us and it strengthens my hand because I didn't expect him to still be here.

"He'll be in the squad and he's an integral part of our plans."
