Triple blow for Addicks
13 Sep 2006 - 08:55:26
Charlton Athletic have been hit by a treble blow, with Djimi Traore, Souleymane Diawara and Andy Reid all being injured in the 2-1 defeat at Chelsea.
Summer signing Traore could be out for as long as two months due to a hairline fracture of a bone in his left leg, while fellow new recruits Diawara and Reid face a month out with hamstring strains.
Defender Traore joined Charlton for £2million from Liverpool, while fellow stopper Diawara was making his debut after a switch from French side Sochaux.
Reid also cost the Addicks £2million when he left Spurs in the summer.
Addicks boss Iain Dowie already has a number of absentees as he tries to make his mark after taking charge at The Valley, with defence his most troublesome area.
Jonathan Fortune (toe) and Gonzalo Sorondo (back) are both currently sidelined, while Hermann Hreidarsson is suspended.
