Thomas - No talk of Europe

Thursday Sep 29 2005 10:41

Jerome Thomas says all talk of Charlton qualifying for Europe for the first time in their history has been banned in the dressing room.

The Addicks are seventh in the Premiership table following Wednesday night's 2-0 win over Spurs and are sitting just a point behind fifth-placed Liverpool as the race for Europe hots up.

But despite being very much in contention as the season enters its most crucial stage, Thomas insists the players are refusing to think about the possibility of creating history and are just concentrating on Saturday's clash with struggling West Bromwich Albion.

"We're not talking about it now," said the 21-year-old.

"I think it's best we take each game as it comes and concentrate on moving up the league.

"If we get into Europe, that's a bonus. We play West Brom tomorrow and that's not going to be easy.

"West Brom are fighting for their lives. We'll go into the game with the same mentality as Wednesday night. We need the three points."
