Charlton Athletic appear to have beaten Sunderland and Celtic to clinch the signing of Arsenal's teenage striker Anthony Stokes.
The 18-year-old is expected to complete his £3million move to The Valley shortly, as boss Alan Pardew attempts to revive a side that has slumped into relegation danger this term.
Stokes spent the first half of the season on loan at Falkirk and made his name by scoring 16 goals in 18 appearances for the SPL side.
"It was a very, very tough call, but the prospect of playing in the Premiership was what drew me to Charlton," Stokes told the Sunday Mirror.
"I spoke to Roy Keane and Gordon Strachan and it was a privilege to have those two people interested.
"It's the hardest decision I've ever made."
