Praise for Addicks youngster
Charlton academy manager Steve Avory has heaped praise on youngster Callum Harriott after he picked up the club's young player of the year award. The 17-year-old winger, a first-year scholar in the club's youth academy who made his first-team debut last month, follows in the footsteps of Rob Lee, Paul Konchesky, Scott Parker, Jonjo Shelvey and Scott Wagstaffe in picking up the annual award.Avory told the club's official website: ""I just think it's a fantastic achievement for an under-17 scholar to be given that award."It clearly shows you how pleased people are with him in terms of the progress he has made."What I've said to Callum, and I'm sure what others have been saying to him, is that he has to keep his feet firmly on the ground."He's still got a lot to develop. It's a great plus once again for the academy - and the younger section of the academy, because Callum is only a first-year scholar. For him to get that award and to follow in the footsteps of Jonjo is really something."
