Lukie Varney arrived at Crewe from non-league Quorn FC in March 2003 after impressing the club by scoring 25 goals. He didnt feature that season but the following season, in 2003/04 he made his debut and made 10 appearances before injuring his sholder in January which ended his season. He underwent surgery to fix the problem and made 27 appearances last season and scored 4 goals.
