Parky: Addicks will be back

Charlton Athletic boss Phil Parkinson backed his club to bounce back after their relegation to League One was confirmed by a 2-2 draw at home to Blackpool.

The Addicks have been teetering on the brink for several weeks, but Parkinson expects a revival in fortunes next term.

He told the club's official website: "This club has had low moments before and has come back, it will do so again.

"Everyone here today will have seen the terrific unity from the supporters and also seen that we have got some quality footballers.

"If the nucleus of this team is kept together and added to, then we will have a great chance of doing a Leicester next year."

Of his own future at The Valley, Parkinson added: "Now's not the time to discuss my own position.

"I don't want to discuss my own position as I think that would be disrespectful to everyone at the club.

"It's not about me, it's about Charlton Athletic Football Club, a fantastic club which has unfortunately got relegated, but will come back stronger."
