Pardew promises changes
22 Oct 2008 - 12:03:49
Charlton Athletic boss Alan Pardew is planning to make changes to his under-performing side after Tuesday's 2-0 home defeat by Bristol City left them perilously close to the Championship drop zone.
The out-of-sorts Addicks are currently languishing in 20th place in the table after suffering a seventh defeat of the season.
The result increased the pressure on Pardew and afterwards the under-fire manager promised to make changes to his side.
"I'm beginning to wonder if a good consistency and level of performance is ever going to come from some of the members of the side," he told the club's official website.
"I think there are going to have to be one or two fresh faces on Saturday, whether that's from inside or outside the squad. I certainly need to get a result for the club.
"It could come from within the squad. We've got Izale McLeod coming back, while Josh Wright has done well on loan at Brentford and he's now back.
"So maybe it's time to throw a couple of fresh faces in and see if it gives us a lift."
