Pardew cools transfer talk

Charlton Athletic manager Alan Pardew has cooled reports which suggest he is lining up a summer move for Plymouth Argyle defender Paul Connolly. Connolly, 24, is out of contract at Home Park next month and would be available on a free transfer. The full-back has made 47 appearances in all competitions for the Pilgrims so far this season. "I don't know how these rumours begin but at the moment we haven't contacted any agent or any club or player for next year," said Pardew. "We're waiting for a budget to come though to see who we can talk to and who is available to be talked to legally, then we'll make any decisions."
