Alan Pardew's attempts to build a Charlton Athletic squad capable of making an immediate return to the Premier League have continued with the arrivals of Portsmouth striker Svetoslav Todorov and Manchester City goalkeeper Nicky Weaver on free transfers.
The double swoop brings Pardew's summer signings up to eight and the former West Ham United boss is delighted with the way his squad is developing.
"They're two great Bosman signings for Charlton," he told the Addicks' official website.
"They're two proven Premiership players who are now Championship players.
"Nicky hasn't had the breaks in his career that he's deserved, but this is a great opportunity for him.
"Svetoslav's quality and precision, which is proven in this division, will be very important to us, especially in home games."
Bulgarian Todorov has penned a 12-month deal with the club, while Weaver has agreed a three-year contract.
