Keeper Weaver injures knee

Charlton Athletic's experienced goalkeeper Nicky Weaver faces weeks out injured after twisting his knee before the friendly clash with Brighton on Saturday.

The Addicks number one caught his studs in a sticky Withdean Stadium pitch as he warmed up for the match, which Charlton won 1-0.

The seriousness of the injury has not yet been confirmed and manager Alan Pardew told the club's official website: "We now have to wait and see what the scan says.

"It's not good news for us as he's done a good pre-season but we're hoping it's not too bad."

Teenager Callum Christie replaced Weaver in goal and could now have a longer run in the team.
