Injuries add to Addicks' woe

Charlton Athletic duo Martin Cranie and Nicky Weaver could miss the Championship clash with Coventry City after picking up injuries in Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Blackpool.

Cranie, on loan from Portsmouth, picked up a shoulder injury at Bloomfield Road while Weaver hurt his back after falling awkwardly.

Meanwhile, caretaker boss Phil Parkinson said after the Blackpool loss which left the Addicks at the foot of the table: "I can't dress it up, we were beaten by the better side.

"The first half was OK but when Blackpool started to play and got the big fella (Liam Dickinson) involved, he caused us more problems as the game went on.

"We were disappointing at the start of the second half and didn't start right. They started sharper and when they scored you could see it gave them a massive lift mentally and physically.

"We didn't respond to that as well as I would have liked.

"From our own side the decision-making on the ball and quality on the ball wasn't good enough. We gave the ball away too cheaply and had too many touches when we should have played it simple."
