Charlton Athletic midfielder Matt Holland has confirmed Hearts are keen to sign him but refused to be drawn on whether the potential move interested him.
The Republic of Ireland international has attracted interest from his former club Ipswich Town as well as the SPL leaders, after admitting he would consider a loan departure from The Valley.
Holland has made just one Premiership appearance this season and is frustrated with his lack of opportunities following the summer arrival of Alexei Smertin.
"I am aware of Hearts' interest and I know there is a story doing the rounds," said the 31-year-old.
"But first and foremost I'm a Charlton player and I'm contracted to them until the end of next season.
"I have absolutely no comment to make on the Hearts speculation at the moment and I believe it would be inappropriate to do so."
Hearts are managed by Holland's former Portman Road boss George Burley, but that may not be enough to tempt the player north of the border.
