Holland impressed by Bailey

Charlton Athletic midfielder Matt Holland has praised team-mate Nicky Bailey for his performances since his arrival at The Valley.

The 24-year-old has impressed since joining from Southend United in mid-August, quickly establishing himself as a key member of the Addicks engine room.

Holland told the club's official website: "Nicky's got a good all-round game, he's a good passer of the ball and is very tenacious in the tackle, so I think he'll be a very good addition to the squad.

"But he's Nicky Bailey, he'll want to make a name for himself and won't want to be compared to other players.

"He's at a good age where he's had the experience of playing regularly and he's come here because he wants to take the next step to the Premier League.

"He's made a good start to his time at Charlton and put in some good performances."
