Charlton Athletic defender Jonathan Fortune is on the verge of moving to Stoke City after the two clubs agreed a transfer fee for the 26-year-old.
Fortune made 14 appearances for the Potters during a loan spell at the Britannia Stadium last term.
Stoke boss Tony Pulis told City's official website: "Jon did a great job when he came here last season. He's an extremely good player who's played in the top division for the majority of his career.
"Everyone saw what he was capable of and I'm delighted that we've agreed a fee for someone who I believe is a Premiership player.
"He is coming up for talks and I really hope we can manage to get him here permanently."
