    Eight-goal thriller at The Valley

    19 Dec 2009 - 17:19:32

The Valley saw an eight goal thriller as Danny Schofield scored an injury-time leveller to earn 10-man Millwall a point against Charlton Athletic.

Deon Burton scored a brace of penalties to bring high-flying Charlton level after going 2-0 down to two Steve Morrison goals.

Nicky Bailey and an own goal from Steve Morrison twice put Charlton ahead, but Dave Martin and Schofield secured the Lions a thrilling draw.

Leeds maintained their spot at the top of League One thanks to a second-half goal from Robert Snodgrass.

The midfielder's late strike secured a 1-0 win over Southampton in a meeting of two former Premier League clubs at Elland Road.

Adam Stansfield scored the only goal of the game to give Exeter City all three points against Southend United despite having Barry Corr sent off.

Gillingham beat Stockport at Priestfield thanks to first-half goals from Dennis Oli, Febian Brandy and John Nutter.

Michael Rose scored Stockport's consolation goal midway through the second half.

Andy Monkhouse scored in the 67th minute to earn Hartlepool a point against Yeovil Town, who went ahead thanks to a Sam Williams goal.

Brentford snatched a 1-0 victory against MK Dons thanks to a Charlie MacDonald goal three minutes from time.

Norwich kept pace with the promotion hopefuls thanks to a 3-0 win over Huddersfield.

Wes Hoolahan opened the scoring for the Canaries before Chris Martin and Gary Doherty wrapped up the points.

Billy Paynter and Charlie Austin scored goals either side of half time to help Swindon to a 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion, with Nick Forster scoring the visitors only goal of the game.

Craig Curran and Gareth Edds scored the goals for Tranmere Rovers as they overcame Bristol Rovers 2-0.

Troy Deeney scored a brace for Walsall to bring them level after going 2-0 down against Leyton Orient. Ryan Jarvis and Tamika Mkandawrie netted Orient's goals.

John Akinde went from hero to villain for Wycombe Wanderers in the space of 13 minutes at Adams Park as, after netting the home side's opener, he then saw red after 22 minutes.

Danny Whitaker and Reuben Hazell put Oldham ahead but a late penalty from Matt Harold saved a point for the Chairboys.

In the only League Two game to survive the inclement weather, Rochdale moved seven points clear at the top of the table following a 4-0 rout of Shrewsbury Town.

Chris O'Grady and Craig Dawson both claimed braces in a one-sided game at a wintry Spotland.
