Dowie upbeat on Young

Charlton Athletic boss Iain Dowie expects captain Luke Young to recover from an ankle injury in time to play in Saturday's London derby against Chelsea.

The problem prevented the right-back travelling to Skopje with the rest of the England squad for Wednesday's Euro 2008 qualifier against FYR Macedonia.

Dowie explained: "It was decided that Luke should return as a precautionary measure.

"He has been in outstanding form since the start of the season and we still expect him to be in consideration for the game at the weekend."

The Addicks manager is also confident Darren Ambrose will face the Premiership champions, despite a groin injury forcing him to drop out of the England Under-21 squad for Wednesday's clash with Switzerland.
