Dowie claims boardroom backing

Charlton Athletic manager Iain Dowie insists that reports he has been given an ultimatum by the club's board are untrue.
The Addicks have struggled since Dowie took charge in the summer and are currently rooted to the foot of the Premiership table.
The poor results have prompted unrest among supporters, but Dowie knows nothing about rumours suggesting that disquiet had spread to the boardroom.
Speaking ahead of Wednesday's Carling Cup clash against Bolton Wanderers, the ex-Northern Ireland striker said: "It's not true that I have two games to save my career, not that I'm aware of anyway.
"I've been very well supported at Charlton. I've had no comments other than positive ones about what we're trying to do here.
"We've had key decisions go against us but the lads' spirit and commitment has been excellent.
"I'm aware that we need some results and that's the end of the story, I've said that from day one.
"I speak to the chairman every day and he's been fine. Obviously, he's as frustrated as I am with the results but he's been very supportive."
