Bailey shines for Addicks

Charlton Athletic midfielder Nicky Bailey took the plaudits after his goal helped the Addicks secure a 2-0 win at home to Plymouth Argyle.

Bailey missed a penalty against the Pilgrims, but went on to net the clinching second goal midway through the second half at The Valley.

Boss Phil Parkinson told the club's official website: "Nick Bailey's performance epitomised the team's performance. He missed the penalty and a chance from six yards.

"He could have let his head go down and the team could have let their heads go down, but they didn't and Nick was rewarded with his goal.

"Nick's got seven goals from midfield in a team that hasn't been the most free-scoring team in the division and that's a terrific return."
