Ambrose hopes for pick-up

Midfielder Darren Ambrose is hoping that Charlton Athletic's morale-boosting FA Cup win over Norwich City can kick-start their battle to avoid relegation.

The Addicks ended a 19-game wait for a win following a 1-0 third-round replay success on Wednesday evening.

Phil Parkinson's side are currently five points adrift at the foot of the Championship table, but Ambrose believes the cup win could be something of a turning point in their season.

"We're all confident that hopefully the luck has changed for us now and we can go on a run of wins and not losses," he told the club's official website.

"We have got that victory now and we are looking forward rather than backwards and can hopefully take that into the league.

"We have seen how good the squad is and we need to take this on and go into Saturday (against Sheffield Wednesday) with confidence and hopefully get a result."
