Charlton Athletic boss Alan Pardew has rejected an offer believed to be in the region of £1million from Cardiff City for striker Marcus Bent. The 30-year-old, who spent last season on loan with Wigan Athletic, is the Bluebirds' number one summer target. However, Pardew insisted: "With all due respect, it was a good bid, but it didn't match his market value, particularly when you take into consideration the season he had at Wigan last year." Former Everton striker Bent scored seven goals for the Latics last term.
