Addicks seal Soares swoop

Charlton Athletic manager Phil Parkinson has strengthened his struggling squad by snapping up the Stoke City midfielder Tom Soares on a month's loan.

The former Crystal Palace youngster moved to the Britannia Stadium for £1.5million in August and has made eight first-team appearances for the Potters.

Parkinson told the Addicks' official website: "We've agreed a deal for Tom and I'm looking forward to having him in my squad over the coming weeks."

Meanwhile, Parkinson has also persuaded Luton Town midfielder Matthew Spring to make his loan switch to The Valley permanent.

Spring, who has penned an 18-month deal with the club, arrives for an undisclosed transfer fee.
