Addicks move for Mooney

Charlton Athletic have swooped to sign striker Dave Mooney on an initial one-month loan from Reading.

The 24-year-old Irishman has struggled to make his mark with the Royals and has previously been loaned out to Stockport County and Norwich City.

Addicks boss Phil Parkinson told the club's official website: "Dave is a goalscorer and an intelligent footballer.

"He's someone we looked at when he was on loan at Norwich City last year and we've watched him for Reading's reserves this season.

"He's hungry to come and play and we look forward to working with him."
