    Addicks lose perfect record

    12 Sep 2009 - 17:17:59

Charlton Athletic moved back to the top of the League One table despite dropping their first points of the season in a 1-1 draw with rock-bottom Southampton.

Deon Burton netted an equaliser for the Addicks after Adam Lallana had given the visitors a first-half lead.

Second-placed Leeds United were held to a goalless draw at Southend United on Friday evening.

A last-gasp Jo Kuffour goal moved Bristol Rovers up to third, as the Pirates edged out Oldham Athletic 1-0 at the Memorial Stadium.

Huddersfield Town are fourth after a goalless draw at home to Brentford, while Swindon Town and Colchester United drew 1-1 at the County Ground.

Gillingham's fine start to the campaign continued as they saw off Millwall 2-0 at Priestfield thanks to goals from Andy Barcham and Curtis Weston.

Walsall heaped further misery on Tranmere Rovers as they won 3-2 at Prenton Park - Troy Deeney's second-half double proving decisive for the Saddlers.

Hartlepool United and Wycombe Wanderers drew 1-1, while the clash between Leyton Orient and Exeter City at Brisbane Road also ended a goal apiece.

Yeovil Town and Stockport County shared the spoils from a 2-2 draw at Huish Park, while Brighton & Hove Albion picked up a 2-0 victory at Carlisle United courtesy of a Nicky Forster double.
